Hi, I’m glad you’re here.
I was diagnosed with Hashimoto’s in 2018, and since then, it’s been a rollercoaster — physically, mentally, and emotionally. Like many people with this autoimmune disease, I learned quickly that there isn’t a simple medication that “fixes” it, especially when thyroid levels are technically within range.
I don’t take thyroid medication. Instead, I’ve had to learn — often the hard way — how much stress, movement, and food affect my body. Managing stress, choosing gentler forms of exercise, and being mindful about what I eat have become essential parts of how I live with Hashimoto’s.
That said, I’m not perfect — and I’m not finished. Eating in a way that supports my body can feel incredibly restrictive, and it’s something I still struggle with. This blog isn’t about having it all figured out. It’s about sharing what I’m learning along the way.
I created Hashimoto’s and Me to share the recipes, ingredients, and gentle movement that support me as I live with an autoimmune disease that doesn’t come with easy answers. My hope is that this space helps others feel less alone — especially those who are managing Hashimoto’s without medication, or who feel overwhelmed by how much lifestyle changes matter.
Everything shared here comes from personal experience, not perfection. What works for me may not work for everyone, but if something here helps you feel a little more supported, then this space has done what it was meant to do.
